We're hosting an array of after school options for all students.  From our daily after-school program which provides homework assistance, crafts, and games, to specialty classes like chess and dance, private music lessons, intramurals, and team sports. Our portfolio of programs has something for everyone.

Our programs rotate with the seasons; fall, winter and spring, providing a variety of opportunities for growth and exploration throughout the year.

Complimenting the daily Wildcat program is a series of enrichment classes offered throughout the school year. These classes, meet one day per week, focus on a specific area of interest.

Enrichment classes are offered by both partner organizations and Westerly faculty/staff. 

Wildcat is Westerly’s daily after-school program designed to support each child's academic, social, emotional, and physical development. Led by the Wildcat team, students will have the opportunity to extend their school day with homework support, enrichment projects, outdoor play, and creative expression. Our activities are crafted to help students explore their passions while discovering new ones, all within a healthy and safe environment.

We’re excited to introduce several new elements to Wildcat this year:

• Wildcats of the Month: Recognizing students who exemplify Westerly's Values.
• Fun Fitness Days: Incorporating activities that focus on physical and emotional well-being, such as running, stretching, strength and conditioning, agility drills, and creative movement.

These new activities and events will primarily take place on Fridays, serving as a rewarding end-of-week celebration. Participation from the students will be key to bringing these exciting ideas to life, and we encourage you to share any specific interests or activities your child would like to see included in Wildcat. Competitive athletics offer an invaluable opportunity to teach our students the value of sportsmanship, teamwork, and the importance of healthfully managing life’s wins – and defeats. Our Wildcats participate in an athletic league along with neighboring schools. A one-time fee of $45 is required for each athlete, which covers participation in all teams they join for the year.

Immerse yourself in the art of music with Westerly’s private after-school music lessons! Offered by the Westerly Music Department, we strive to present fun, dynamic, and diverse instruction in vocal and instrumental music. It is our goal to instill a passion for music in our students, while helping them build confidence and grow in their chosen craft.

Drop-in Option

Charges are $35/day. Pre-registration is not required unless known in advance, you will register for drop-ins with your Jumbula portal under Semester 1. Your child may go directly to Wildcat after school.

Please note that all students who have not been picked up by the following times will be accompanied to Wildcat:

M-Th: 3:30 for K-4 and 3:35pm for 5th-8th

*Fri: 1:30 for K-4 and 1:35pm for 5th-8th

If my child is staying after school for an enrichment class or athletics, does this count as attending Wildcat, and would I need to pay the drop-in rate?
If you pick up your child immediately after the enrichment class or practice, this does not count as Wildcat. We also offer a 30-minute grace period in case you are running late, so your child may stop by Wildcat during that time without being billed for a drop-in. If your child attends Wildcat after an enrichment class or practice for more than 30 minutes, then this will count as using Wildcat for the day. 

Does Westerly prorate the drop-in fee?
We do not have a prorating option available for the drop in rates, however, we do offer a 30-minute grace period after dismissal where drop-in charges are not issued.  

What is the Pick-up Protocol?
Wildcat Pick-up: Parents/guardians are to call or text the Wildcat Phone ahead of time and enter the valet line upon arrival:

We encourage parents/guardians to call or text about 5 minutes before arrival to allow time for students to pack up and make their way to the office. Parents are also welcome to park and walk up to the main office. 

Westerly Athletics + Enrichment Classes Pick-up: Parents/guardians are to enter the valet line and wait for their student to be dismissed at their scheduled time.

Please ensure the adult picking up your child is on the authorized pick up list (FACTS/RenWeb) or email the after school team ([email protected]) allowing permission to pick up–please include the first name and last name of the adult as well as their cell phone number.
